twenty-eight years. to God be the glory...

September 4, 1982...twenty-eight years ago...
I became the Mrs. to Sweet Husband's Mr.

Here we are cutting the cake.
Wow!  We both had a lot of hair, didn't we?
My heart still pitter-pats when Sweet Husband
puts his hand over mine.

I wouldn't take anything for one day of those 28 years.
Oh sure, there has been pain...caused by each of us.
That's guaranteed when sinners say, "I do."

But, there has been oh, so much more grace...
totally undeserved, yet given by God
through His Only Son, Jesus Christ.

I love you, Sweet Husband
and I'm looking forward to the next twenty-eight years,
God willing.

Heck...I'm looking forward to tomorrow...
as long as I'm with you!

To borrow from Andre Crouch...
the lyrics which are incidentally from the first song
I ever heard Sweet Husband sing...

"How can I say thanks
for the things You have done for me?
Things so undeserved
yet You give to prove Your love for me.
The voices of a million angels
could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee.

To God be the glory, to God be the glory,
to God be the glory
for the things He has done!
With His blood He has saved me,
with His pow'r He has raised me,
to God be the glory
for the things He has done!"
